Detailed search for grid modernization

My recent experience with NexGen Virtual involved searching for grid modernization jobs. The platform's search filters were effective, allowing me to narrow down results to specific roles and locations. I utilized the resume database access, which seemed to get my profile seen by employers. I also signed up for career coaching for energy professionals, which provided some valuable insights, though it was an additional service. The site's focus on the renewable sector means the listings are highly relevant, cutting down on wasted time. Compared to general job boards, this specialization is a clear advantage. The interface for applying was generally intuitive, and I received regular updates on new listings that matched my criteria. Overall, a solid resource for niche energy careers.

Good job board, slow support

I used NexGen Virtual to find solar energy jobs. The site had a decent selection of listings, and I liked the job alert subscriptions feature; it kept me updated without constant checking. Applying was straightforward for the most part. My only real gripe was with customer support. I had a question about my resume upload and it took almost two days to get a response. Not a huge deal, but could be faster.

Found a cool internship

Just checked out NexGen Virtual for renewable energy internships and actually found one. It was pretty easy to navigate the site and apply. I just uploaded my resume and hit submit. No fuss, really. It was better than sifting through a ton of unrelated stuff on bigger job sites.

Reliable for finding green tech roles

I've used NexGen Virtual a few times now for clean technology roles. This time around, I was looking for sustainability consultant positions and the experience was consistent with my past searches. The job listings are always relevant and up-to-date, unlike some other boards. I appreciate the focus on renewable energy; it saves me a lot of filtering. Definitely my go-to for these kinds of jobs.

Is it free to use this site if I'm just looking for a job? Or do I have to pay a subscription to apply?

Does this site only list jobs in the US? Or can I find international roles here too, specifically in Europe?

M Mark Parker 3 weeks ago
Mostly US, I think. I haven't seen a ton of international stuff when I've browsed, but there might be some. It's definitely US-centric though.

S Sandra Phillips 3 weeks ago
Their main focus is definitely the US market for renewable energy jobs. You might find a few international listings but don't expect a huge variety for Europe compared to US roles.

I'm a job seeker, can I get any kind of discount or coupon for career coaching or something? Like a promo code to help with my resume?

M Matt Walker 2 weeks ago
Nah, not really for job seekers, I've looked. Any codes I've seen are usually for companies buying job posts.

P Patricia T. 2 weeks ago
I don't think so. From what I understand, codes are mostly for employers buying bulk job credits. We job seekers get the job alerts and stuff for free, but not discounts.

Hey, I'm looking at some solar jobs on here. Is this site actually legit for finding green energy work? Or just another scam listing site?

K Kyle E. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, it's legit. I got my current wind energy gig through them last year. They specialize in it.

B Brandon 3 weeks ago
Totally legit. I've used it for a few years and gotten interviews. They focus specifically on renewable energy, not just general job boards.

I heard about some 'seasonal hiring sale' for employers. Is that a real thing, or did I misunderstand?

B Barbara Hernandez 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I think they do those. Around January or Q1, I've seen stuff like that pop up for bulk job postings.

T Thomas M. 3 weeks ago
They do have seasonal sales, especially around Q1 and sometimes in September. It's usually for employers buying multiple job credits, not for individual job seekers.

Are new jobs posted on NexGenEnergyJobs pretty regularly? Or do I need to check back like once a month for updates?

D Donna Phillips 1 week ago
They update pretty often. I usually see new stuff popping up every few days, sometimes daily depending on the sector.

B Betty 1 week ago
It's pretty active. I get job alerts and there's usually something new hitting my inbox at least a couple times a week. Definitely not a monthly thing.

I'm with a small non-profit focused on sustainability. Do they ever offer discounts for job postings for organizations like ours?

M Michelle R. 1 week ago
I've heard they do non-profit discounts sometimes. Worth checking with their support directly.

J Justin 1 week ago
They definitely have specific discounts for non-profits and even renewable energy startups. You'd probably need to reach out to them directly to get the details and a code.
